Fire Restoration Project

Hayward was chosen by the University to rehabilitate a 10,000 square feet mechanical equipment room that was subject to a fire. The project required the replacement of ductwork, equipment, insulation, piping, fire proofing, and the control system. Hayward performed the prime mechanical duties. This project required working both shift and weekend work to complete the restoration in a timely fashion. The fire destroyed the existing pneumatic controls system which was replaced with modern DDC controls. Hayward fabricated the belt guards for the new fans in our shop to meet OSHA standards and the demanding schedule. One of the last steps in the restoration was to inspect, test, and replace when necessary the existing fire dampers. Hayward gave the University a fire damper report which is part of our FD Inspection & Testing program for their records and use in future IDPH audits.
