ILLINOIS COUPLE RECEIVES SMACNA’S DISTINGUISHED LEGISLATIVE SERVICE AWARD

WASHINGTON, D. C. – Robert and Anita Kuechenberg of Hayward Company in Schiller Park, Illinois were recognized with the Distinguished Legislative Service Award at the Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors’ National Association’s (SMACNA) annual legislative awards dinner.

“We are pleased to be talking not about just one person but two people,” commented SMACNA’s Legislative Committee Chairman, John Ilten. “Several years ago when we selected Bob to serve on the Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Political Action Committee (SMAC PAC) and Legislative Committee, we received a bonus member in Anita.”

“These two people became willing and generous supporters of SMACNA’s legislative and political program year in and year out. They each facilitate the extensive involvement by their chapter in the legislative and political area.”

Long-time attendees at the Construction Alliance National Issues Conference, they are active members of SMAC PAC. As members of the Congressional Insiders Club, they are consistently supportive of the Capitol Hill staff. In addition, they organize congressional sharing events and support their chapter executive’s efforts to get others involved.

“Bob served as a dedicated and active member of the SMAC PAC and Legislative Committee for five years,” explained Ilten. “Anita also became involved and is one of best 50/50 sweepstakes ticket sellers.”

SMACNA’s annual legislative awards dinner is held in conjunction with the Construction Alliance National Issues Conference which represents more than 12,000 contractor member firms of the Mechanical Contractors Association of American, the National Electrical Contractors Association, and SMACNA.
